Keyword Autopilot brings the ad4mat Keyword Linker into your WordPress dashboard. It finds words in your articles that match our advertisers and turns them into affiliate links — automatically, without copying a single link. You stay in control of what gets linked, how often and how it looks.
What you need
A WordPress website that is publicly accessible, and access to your WordPress dashboard.
An ad4mat account. If you don't have one yet, you create it inside the plugin (see below).
Getting started
Step | What happens |
1. Install the plugin and open Keyword Autopilot in the WordPress menu | You see the sign-up form, prefilled with your WordPress details (name, email, country, website). |
2. Sign up | Check your details, tick "My website is a Single Page Application (SPA)" only if your site switches pages without fully reloading (most WordPress sites don't — if unsure, leave it unchecked), accept the privacy policy and click Create account. You get a confirmation email. |
3. Wait for approval | Our team reviews new applications, usually within 24 hours. |
4. Set your password | When your account is approved you receive the email "Your account is ready to start". Follow the link, click Account recovery and set a password. You won't be sent back to WordPress automatically — return to your WordPress dashboard yourself. |
5. Log in | Open Keyword Autopilot again, click Log in and sign in with your email and new password (Log in with ad4mat). Confirm the one-time consent page. |
6. Welcome & tracking tag | On your first login you see two short screens. In step 2 you allow the plugin to add the tracking tag to your site — see "The tracking tag" below. |
Already have an ad4mat account? Then the sign-up tells you so — use the account you have (use Reset your password if needed).
The Keyword Linker tab
This is where you configure everything. On the left are your settings, on the right the live preview.
Autopilot on/off
The Autopilot switch at the top turns the keyword linking on or off (ACTIVE / OFF). While it is off, no links are placed and the tracking tag is not loaded. All other settings appear as soon as you switch it on.
Good to know: after every activation we need about 48 to 72 hours to optimise performance and gather enough data. A note at the top reminds you; you can close it.
Linking focus
What should the autopilot turn into links?
Option | What it does |
Balanced (recommended) | Links brand names first, then fills up with topic keywords. |
Brands only | Only links brand names in your text, e.g. "Nike" to Nike. |
Topics only | Only links keywords that fit your article's topic, e.g. "running shoes". |
Link limits
Setting | What it does |
Maximum links per page (1–10) | The most links the autopilot places on one page. Lower keeps reading calm, higher covers more keywords. |
Min. distance between links (20–600 characters, in steps of 20) | Minimum number of characters between two links, so they never cluster in one spot. |
Presentation
Setting | What it does |
Ad label | Shows a small advertising marker next to each link — for transparency towards your readers and legal compliance. |
Label text (max. 15 characters) | The text of that marker, e.g. "AD". Editable only while the ad label is on. |
Link icons | Adds a small ↗ after each link so readers can tell links from normal text. |
Placement & tracking
Setting | What it does |
Where to place links | The area of your page in which links may be placed. Post content is recommended: it is the article body and works with most themes. Other options cover common theme and page-builder areas (e.g. Elementor, Divi, GeneratePress, Astra) and Whole page as a fallback. |
Sub-ID | Optional tag that is added to every link. Use it to tell sites, campaigns or placements apart in your reports, for example keywordlinker_blog. Leave it empty if you don't need it. |
Advanced settings
Open Advanced settings for brand safety and fine-tuning:
Setting | What it does |
Allowed sensitive categories · publisher | Sensitive content categories you allow on your side. |
Allowed sensitive categories · programs | Sensitive categories you allow for the advertisers' programs. |
Excluded programs | Programs that are never linked. Their keywords stay plain text. Search by name and add as many as you like. |
Priority programs | Programs that are preferred when several could match the same keyword. |
Only allow a sensitive category if it fits your content and your brand.
Saving and resetting
Save stores your changes. The status next to the button shows Unsaved changes, Saving… or All changes saved.
After every save a confirmation tells you that every change takes 24 to 48 hours to show up on your site, because we first need to collect data.
Reset to recommended restores our best-practice setup: Balanced focus, 3 links per page, 100 characters distance, Post content, ad label "AD" and link icons on. It does not touch the Autopilot switch.
The live preview
The preview on the right shows a sample article (example.com/guide/running-shoes) and how your current settings would link it — before you save anything.
Change a setting and the links in the sample text update immediately.
It reflects the Autopilot switch, Linking focus, Maximum links, Min. distance, Ad label and label text, Link icons and Excluded programs.
The line below the text summarises the result, e.g. 3 of max. 3 links · focus: balanced · label "AD" · 0 programs excluded.
It is a simulation: links in the preview are not clickable, and the sample text and programs are examples. To see real linking, activate the autopilot and check the pages of your own website after the waiting time.
The Settings tab
Section | What you can do |
Account details | Your first name, last name and email, taken from your WordPress account. They can't be edited here. |
Payment information | Enter the bank details for your payouts once in the publisher area (Open payment settings). When you are done, click "I've entered my payment details". For security, payment details can only be entered once — if something changes later, write to our Publisher team at [email protected] and we'll update them for you. |
Invoices | Open invoices takes you to your invoices and payout statements in the publisher area. |
How links look to your readers
Each link the autopilot places is marked according to your Presentation settings: a small ad label and/or a ↗ icon. Words that are not linked stay unchanged. Links are placed only inside the area you chose under Where to place links.
The tracking tag
The plugin adds a small piece of code (the tracking tag) to your site automatically — you never copy or paste anything. It is what places the links and measures their performance. You allow this once, in step 2 of the welcome screens, and it is only active while the autopilot is on.
Frequently asked questions
I switched the autopilot on, but I don't see any links.
Changes take 24 to 48 hours to show up, and after a first activation we need 48 to 72 hours to collect enough data. Also check that Where to place links matches the structure of your theme — Post content works for most sites.
Can I preview real links on my site?
The live preview is a simulation. Real links appear on your own pages once the autopilot is active and the waiting time has passed.
Which links are marked as ads?
All links placed by the autopilot, according to your Ad label and Link icons settings. We recommend keeping the ad label on.
How do I exclude a brand?
Open Advanced settings → Excluded programs, search for the program and add it. Its keywords stay plain text.
Why can't I change my payment details anymore?
For the security of your payouts they can only be entered once. Write to [email protected] and we'll change them for you.
I already have an ad4mat account.
You don't need to sign up again. Use your existing account, and reset your password at the ad4mat login if you've forgotten it.
My application is still "under review".
Reviews usually take up to 24 hours. You'll get an email with a link to set your password as soon as you're approved.
